An ISL is a form of residential habilitation that allows individuals the opportunity for community living regardless of the individual's competency, the severity of the individual’s disability, or the degree of any physical or behavioral challenges the individual may have. Individuals may live alone with a family or share a living arrangement with others. When living arrangements are shared, no more than three individuals with disabilities may reside together and qualify for ISL services. Emphasis is placed on individuals choosing where they reside, with whom they reside, and the type of community activities in which they wish to be involved. Except when individuals served are children, supports are individually designed and coordinated to enable their living.

In-home respite care is provided to individuals unable to care for themselves on a short-term basis because of the absence or need for relief of those normally providing the care. Respite care is provided on a one-to-one basis. In-home respite may include assisting up to three individuals at a time. The service is provided in the individual’s residence, at a qualified day program site, or elsewhere in the community.

A Support Broker (SB) provides the individual or their designated representative (DR) with information and assistance to secure the supports and services identified in the Individual Service Plan (ISP). The Support Broker does not do these tasks for the individual/DR but provides information and assistance for the individual/DR to fulfill their employer-related responsibilities. The goal for everyone is to move towards ‘Independence’ and for individuals and families to have the support they need.

Personal Assistant Services are for an individual who does not need complete support with in-home living skills; we assist with daily skill planning, such as meal preparation, shopping, budgeting, and community integration.
